Inpatient bariatric procedures among adolescents have plateaued since 2003, according to a study by researchers at Children’s National Medical Center, published Online First by Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, a JAMA Network publication.

Ziv Yaniv, PhD

Biography

Ziv Yaniv, PhD, is a principal investigator at the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation. His main areas of interest are image-guided interventions, medical image analysis, computer vision, and software engineering. He actively supports the development of open source software, and is one of the lead developers of the free open source Image-Guided Surgery Toolkit IGSTK and a contributor to the Insight Registration and Segmentation toolkit ITK. Dr. Yaniv joined the Institute from Georgetown University, where he was an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology. He is a member of the MICCAI society as well as the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology and IEEE Computer societies.
